g. Autotrophs:- The organisms which can make their food themselves are called autotrophs.

h. Heterotrophs:- The organisms which depend on plants and other animals for food are called heterotrophs.

i. Saprophyte:- Those plants that live on dead organisms and get their food from them are called saprophyte.

j. Parasites:- Those plants and animals that live on other living organisms and get their food from them are called parasites.

a. Why is a mushroom saphrophyte?

Answer: Mushroom is a saprophyte because it lives on dead organisms and get food from them.

b. Why is tiger a carnivore?

Answer: A tiger is a carnivore because it eats flesh of other animals.

c. Why do we need internal transportation?

Answer: We need internal transportation to supply food, oxygen, blood and other necessary materials to all the parts of our body.
Or,
We need internal transportation because each and every parts of our body needs energy to live.

d. Why can not plants survive if there is no carbon dioxide?

Answer: Plants can not survive if there is no carbon dioxide because plants can not prepare their own food without carbon dioxide.

a. How is carbon dioxide obtained by plants?

Answer: Carbon dioxide is obtained by plants from the atmosphere (by animals) through the small pore called stomata of the leaves.

Plants take carbon dioxide and throw oxygen through the leaves.

b. What are the things needed by plants to prepare food?

Answer: Carbon dioxide, sunlight and water are the things needed by the plants to prepare food.

c. What are the four life processes in living things?

Answer: The four life process in living things are 1. Respiration, 2. Excretion, 3. Internal Transportation and 4. Nutrition.

d. How do plants depend on animal?

Answer: Plants depend on animals for carbon dioxide and nutrition.

e. How are plants and animals related to each other?

Answer: Plants and animals are related each other by exchanging gases (Carbon dioxide and Oxygen) during respiration and photosynthesis.

f. Why is reproduction necessary?

Answer: Reproduction is necessary for the continuity of life.

g. What is the function of blood in our body?

Answer: The function of blood in our body is to transport food, oxygen and other necessary materials to all parts of the body.

h. Give two examples of the following.

i. Autotrophs:- The two examples of the autotrophs are rose and sunflower.

ii. Herbivores:- The two examples of the herbivores are goat and cow.

iii. Carnivores:- The two examples of the carnivores are tiger and lion.

iv. Parasites:- The two examples of the parasites are louse and leech.

v. Saprophytes:- The two examples of the saprophytes are fungi and bacteria.
